Additionally, the 1H and 13C NMR spectra show the existence of two diastereomers, differing in their absolute configuration at sulfur. These conclusions were confirmed by a single-crystal X-ray structure determination, which showed the presence of both diastereomers in the unit cell. Crystallographic details: cis-Pt(S-EtCys)Cl2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21, with a = 8.336(6) Å, b = 10.997(8) Å, c = 15.097(9) Å, β = 120.76(3)°, Z = 4.
