The theory is illustrated by problems of abruptly terminated three-layer waveguides with piecewise-constant and variable permittivity profiles. Differences in the scattering characteristics for systems with metamaterials and conventional media are discussed. © 2010 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc. ER -
