It includes an overview of the most important international texts and research applications, and presents an empirical educational research that explores the effectiveness of interfaith dialogue in mixed religious classrooms. The research was conducted as a case study during two school years 2016-17, 2017-18, in a high school in Athens, in a classroom of Christian and Muslim students. Quantitative and qualitative methodological tools were used to analyze the research data, and the collaboration of independent judges was used. The research findings have highlighted the multiple role of interfaith dialogue in the educational effectiveness in terms of knowledge, communication and dialogue skills, and attitudes towards religious diversity. At the same time, the possibility of effective implementation of dialogue in teaching religions in Religious Education was revealed, following the relevant recommendations of the Council of Europe, which encourage the development of such a research initiatives.
