Original Title:
Ανατομική συσχέτιση της συμπαθητικής νεύρωσης στην αιτιοπαθογένεια του καρκίνου του μαστού
Summary:
On the whole forty cases of breast cancer patients were studied: six of them
derived from autopsies and three speciments were taken from human corpses used
for the anatomy exercise of the 2nd year students of Athens University Medical
Scholl.
Furthermore, thirty one speciments belonged to surgical patients: twelve of
them derived from Public Hospitals and nineteen from Private Clinics.
During the examination of the speciments mentioned above, residual symphatetic
neurosis was found within all of them. The tissue of mammary gland studied with
the immunofluorescence method, which is based on the specific adhesion of the
branded with the fluorescent chromogenic antibody to its specific antigen.
Fluorescein was used as a marked molecule, in order to study the sympathetic
nervous system, because it gives the ability of targeting the fluorescent
substance in specific proteins and cell structures.
This study is considered as original in Greece and even rare internationally,
as it took place on human mammary gland, whilst animals are used in experiments
for other relevant international studies.
