Summary:
The aim of this thesis is to obtain an interpretation of Plato’s theory of
False Judgement in the Theaetetus 187a-200d and the Sophistes 261c-263d (in
chapter II) and an interpretation of the notion of (True) Judgement in the
Republic 475e-480a (in chapter III), based on the novel interpretation of the
Platonic method of Division and Collection (as presented in the Sophistes and
Politicus), discovered by S. Negrepontis, as the philosophical analogue of the
geometric periodic anthyphairesis.
