Summary:
In this thesis we illustrate a complete methodology approach for the
technoeconomic analysis of telecommunication access technologies, that
hereafter is implemented in specific detailed telecommunication case studies,
wireless or wireline technologies. In the first part of this Thesis,
investigating the factors that influence the expansion of telecommunication
sector, as well as presenting the theoretical background of econometric models,
a methodology approach for technoeconomic analysis has been developed including
hedonic model and AIC (Akaike Information Criterion). In the second part of
this thesis the methodology has been applied in case studies for mobile devices
which are included in wireless technologies, as well as for leased lines and
ADSL soloutions which are inxluded in wireline access. For these case studies
it is assumed that this methodology is clearly designated for telecoms
products. Furthermore the most powerful characteristics of each telecom’s
product, that shape their prices are detected, as well as a price index is
constructed for these products presenting the trend of their prices across
years. Finally an incorporation of the hedonic price index in the GBM
(Generalized Bass Model) is introduced, presenting the impact of the price
indexes on the diffusion process
