Sporting events because of the specificity of mass gathering increase the
chances of developing dangerous situations and accidents. The main purpose of
this study was to present a plan of organization of medical care in major
athletic events and will provide the basic rules for managing and dealing with
health crises. Secondary purpose was to review tragedies in sporting events
seeking the causes of such breaches, the number of victims and the types of
injuries.
The most common causes of health crises in sports was fires, collapsing
platforms, fans clashes and terrorist attacks resulting in large numbers of
dead and wounded. Reported over 33 tragedies with the death toll to surpass
their 2340 and 4700 wounded with severe bleeding, burns and wounds receding.
Inadequate safety measures and ineffective management of the situation was
critical. Operational plans crisis prevention mainly football and Olympics
focus on public health, attendance management, crowd control and provide
medical care for the successful and safe conduct of all these events there is
always the preconditioning, design and organization. Followed by the
implementation phase and implementation of pre-planning during and after the
event. The effectiveness and success of the organization is in the final phase
of the assessment and valuation of the whole process. In the organization,
implementation and evaluation of safety measures for the commission of such
events has an important role contribution, collaboration and education many
organizational entities. The readiness for possible risk management should be
based on good preparation surveillance, monitoring and communication are tested
before every major sporting event.
