Solar radiation and skin cancer-global geographic distribution of the phenomenon
Summary:
Cancer is a major public health problem, since epidemic ratesare increasing
despite medical advances. Nowadays it is the second cause of death worldwide,
after cardiovascular disease. Our current way of life such as stress, sedentary
lifestyle, the extensive use of mobile telephony and poor diet such as eating
fast food and low consumption of fruits and vegetables are factors that
dramatically increase the percentages of cancers worldwide.
Another important factor is the harmful solar radiation, which due to the
effect of the ozone hole has become extremely dangerous for health and can lead
to cancer. Skin cancer is a form of cancer that affects the skin and is mainly
due to human exposure to solar radiation. It is a treatable form of cancer if
it is diagnosed early.
This project includes a presentation of the skin, solar radiation and its
harmful effects on the skin, it also includes the concept of cancer and
emphasizes on skin cancer and the global geographic distribution of the
phenomenon.
