Summary:
This paper addresses the issue of GM food and human health.
The first chapter analyzes the issue of genetically modified organisms.
Specifically, the definition of genetically modified organisms is given. Also,
this chapter referrers to genetically modified foods on the market and analyzes
the advantages and disadvantages of genetically modified organisms.
The second chapter presents the pros and cons of genetic modification and
production of genetically modified products of genetic science.
The third chapter analyzes how the use of genetic modified organisms effects
the human health (directly) with their consumption and (indirectly) through
other factors who are affecting human health such as the quality of
environment, the balanced ecosystem, the fauna and the flora.
The fourth chapter exposes the effects of the genetic modification of plant and
animal organisms in the environment and indirectly to human health.
The fifth chapter analyzes the legislative framework on GMO products, both in
Europe and in our country
Finally, the sixth and final chapter presents the issues of social auto control
and protection of the consumer.
