Παρακολούθηση (μετεγχειρητική και κατά τη διάρκεια χημειο/ακτινοθεραπείας) οστικών όγκων: Ο ρόλος των απεικονιστικών μεθόδων
Summary:
The objective of this thesis is the illustration of the role imaging modalities
have in the posttreatment (after chemotherapy, radiotherapy and combinations
thereof) assesment of response of bone tumours. The most frequent malignant
bone tumours are presented in the first half of this paper, along with their
imaging differential diagnosis and the advantages and drawbacks different
imaging modalities have to offer. In the second half each imaging modality is
examined for its capacity to diagnose local recurrences and to differentiate
between poor and positive treatment response. Response criteria in imaging
studeis are also highlighted. As a conclusion, posttreatment assessment of
malignant bone tumours is a hard-to-master discipline which requires a solid
grasp of regional anatomy, pre-treatment imaging, modern treatment options and
anticipated imaging alterations in accordance to the time lapsed since the
conclusion of treatment regiments.
