In situ techniques in pathology
Summary:
In recent years the development of in situ techniques, leads to new paths
beyond that of the routine laboratory diagnosis of tumors. Reference is made
mainly in ImmunoHistoChemistry (preanalytical, analytical and meta-analytical
phase) and In Situ Hybridization (FISH & CISH - sample preparation,
hybridization, detection of hybridization) on the principles and methods of
technical analysis. Emphasis is placed on their applications, including
prognosis, diagnosis and treatment of tumors. The aim of this work is to
highlight issues where the IHC and ISH overlap or replace each other technique
and that are now used as "weapons" in matters prognosis and targeted therapy of
tumors in this unequal battle.
