Στάθμιση της συστοιχίας BRB-N στον ελληνικό πληθυσμό
Summary:
The Brief Repeatable Battery of Neuropsychological Tests (BRB-N) is a brief
screening instrument of cognitive dysfunction in multiple sclerosis (MS). In
spite of its sensitivity and specifity in detection of cognitive impairment in
MS patients the lack of normative values for the Greek population limits its
application in clinical practice. We administered the test battery in 140
healthy volunteers in order to obtain normative data.BRB-N consists of five
subtests: Selective Reminding Test (SRT), 10/36 Spatial Recall test (SPART),
Symbol Digit Modalities Test (SDMT), Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test
(PASAT) and Word List Generation (WLG). Higher education level was highly
associated with better performance and increasing age was associated with
decrease in the scores of the subtests. Gender influenced most of the variables
of the test battery. Normative data stratified by gender, age and education are
provided for use in both clinical and research settings related to MS in Greek
population.
