The weigl colour form sorting test: a normative study in greek healthy population
Translated title:
Στάθμιση της δοκιμασίας ταξινόμησης ερεθισμάστων στον ελληνικό πληθυσμό
Summary:
The Weigl Colour Form Sorting Test (WCFT) is a brief, non- verbal
neuropsychological test, which assesses flexible thinking and abstraction.
Current study’s purpose is to provide normative data for the WCFT in a sample
of 180 healthy Greek volunteers, by examining the effects of demographic
variables on test performance. Results revealed that gender, age and education
level significantly influence (p < 0, 05) the WCFT performance. Thus, our
sample was stratified based on gender, age (groups: 16-39, 40-59, 60-79) and
education (groups: 6-9, 10-12, 13+). Concluding, the effect of demographics on
test performance highlights the need for standardization studies even in
non-verbal cognitive measures, such as the WCFT, which can be used in the Greek
healthy population and clinical settings for the evaluation of executive
functions
