Summary:
In this thesis the synthesis and biological properties of cinolinones and
coumarin analogues is presented..
The reactivity of these compounds due to the presence of bicarbonyl functional
group, plus the mighty antimicrobial properties of cinolinones and antioxidant
properties of coumarins are being empowered by the presence of the metal ions
Zn(II), Cu(II) and Co(II) and consequently examined via their complexation
with those.
The structures of these compounds have been elucidated using elementar
analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements with IR, and 1H NMR, 13C NMR
spectroscopic data.
