Summary:
In this study we estimated the levels of the oxidative stress markers
malondyhaldehyd and proteinic carbons spectrophotometrically as well as the
levels on nitrotyrosine by the elisa method.There where three groups of
patientis with thalassemia major devided by the chelating factor inQ group A
-use of deferoxamine, group-B- combination of deferoxamine and deferiprone and
group C- deferiprone. After comparison of the levels of the three markers
between the three groups, there weas no statiostically significantr difference
between the levels of each marker.
