Summary:
This MsC Thesis became the attempt to interpret the behavior and volatility of
heavy metals in the process of clinker.
Sampling took place at Kamari plant, TITAN S.A.. Samples were taken from the
raw materials of the raw meal, which are: limestone, clay 1, clay 2, wet fly
ash, clay 3,clay4, silica sand, iron additive raw material, bauxite.
Thenwetookarawmealsample fromproductionofrawmill (derived from the above raw
materials at certain proportions), kiln feed samplefrom kiln, dust of
conditioning tower from kiln, dustof bagfilterfrom kiln, dustfrom fourth
stageof preheaterkiln’s. Moreover, wetooksamplesfromfuelswhichfedat the
sampling dayat the kiln, such aspet-coke, coal, tiresand alternative solid fuel
(ASF). At the end, we took sample of clinker from kiln.
In all the above samples were measured the following heavy metals: Hg, Cd, Tl,
As, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sb, V, Se and Zn withspectrometer X-rays.
