Summary:
Qualitative study by individual, semi-structured interviews in order to
investigate conceptions of secondary school teachers' about didactic issues
concerning biology as defined through the paradigm of teaching photosynthesis.
Almost all teachers agree that the overall context of photosynthesis teaching
cannot be considered satisfactory, regarding that the existing context of
teaching of photosynthesis -and biology in general- is mainly interrelated to
the way biology is reframed at school, creating a context in which
epistemological differences among various disciplines, as well as the
contribution of the Theory of Evolution, are not taken into consideration
