Summary:
In recent years, optical free-space communications are becoming a larger share
in the wireless information transmission. The high performance, large data
rates as well as low cost installation and operation, making them longer the
most affordable, fast and reliable solutions in the field of
telecommunications. The optical free-space communications can be used for the
communication link between buildings, ships, aircraft, satellites, which have
visual contact. Below, we present closed expressions for calculating the outage
capacity in which communication channels are modeled with I-K distribution. The
outage capacity is a very important metric for measuring the performance and
reliability of such systems. Finally, results are presented; proving the
correctness of mathematical forms, and can be used for designing efficient
free-space optical communications systems.
