Summary:
This work involves the investigation of the role of institutions of civil
society, active in the
immigration / refugee crisis in progress the last two years.
Civil society has played and continues to play an important role both in
tackling immigration /
refugee crisis both in the initial stage, and the effects caused by the
progression. EU citizens and
the states - members of the Union were invited within a relatively short time
to cope with an
unprecedented issue with strong economic, political and social implications,
which are still not
being identified across the range.
The organizations of civil society are effectively intermediate space that
covers the public from the
private sphere, while trying through pressure from the states to ensure that
both the immigration
policies and asylum policies and the domestic law and practice to be compatible
with the principles
of international human rights law and the obligations they have undertaken.
The paper attempts to present a comprehensive manner the issue. Therefore
comprising the
following structure:
Critical approach of definitions relating to Natural and man-made disasters,
presentation and
annotation data for Greece, presentation of the "disaster cycle phases."
Then the paper attempts to analyze the relationship of civil society with
volunteering, international
framework within which stood above, and the situation in Greece through the
presentation of
studies and research.
In the third part of the paper presents and analyzes the activities and the
role of stakeholders in the
management of immigration in our country and the role of civil society as
migratory general. After
an interview with psychologist Miltos Stampliaka, worker presented in Arsis, in
Idomeni region.
Finally the paper ends trying to present both the positive and negative
characteristics of the role of these bodies.
