Οι αντιλήψεις για την Ανοσολογία από μαθητές του Δημοτικού
Translated title:
Primary school students' perceptions on Immunology issues
Summary:
The present paper examines the ideas of 12 year-old students of a primary
school, concerning particular immunology subjects. For the purpose of this
research, the students initially followed a presentation (with the use of Power
Point). Then, they participated in team activities and during the last phase of
the teaching intervention they filled in a questionnaire. The results that were
obtained, after this process was completed, were encouraging. It was obvious
that the content of the lesson raised the interest of the children, giving much
hope for its future adaptation to the curriculum of early grades. This paper
may be used by teachers of Primary Education as a handbook of basic knowledge
in the field of Immunology, since it approaches the concepts of the immune
system by using examples from everyday life. Finally, several teaching methods
of teaching are proposed, which, with the support of IT (Information
Technology) for education, contribute to the detection of the students’
misconceptions and to their familiarization with new knowledge as well.
