Preparations for the single-lepton SUSY search with CMS at 13 TeV
Summary:
In this project we present a strategy for an early inclusive single lepton
search for Supersymmetry with 13 TeV data. We require a high
threshold for the sum of missing transverse momentum and the transverse
momentum of the lepton,
which makes the search sensitive to R-parity conserving supersymmetry. We
further use the search
variable Df to suppress the background. To optimize the sensitivity to various
new physics topologies,
we search in several exclusive categories, which differ in the number of jets
and btags. In addition we introduce and analyze a new kinematic variable,
Topness, that promises additional separation power between background and SUSY
signal.
Data Reconstruction and event selection have done using the CMS software
(CMSSW), where C++ and ROOT (analysis framework) are used.
