Synthesis of new tripeptides and study of their catalytic activity in organic solvens and aqueous media
Summary:
In the present thesis we describe the synthesis of six new tripeptides as
well as the study of their organocatalytic properties in the direct aldol
reaction.
The study of the organocatalytic properties of these peptides showed
that the tripeptide Pro-Phe-Asp(OBut)-OBut had the best result on the yield of
the aldol reaction (up to 100%), the stereoselectivity of the products (up to
94:6) combined with the fact that the reaction takes place in aqueous
solutions. Also the tripeptide Pro-Phe-(D)Phg-OBut gave equally good results,
but
only in the organic solvent, toluene. The remaining peptides were not evaluated
positively to the
organocatalytic behavior, proving the importance of the nature of the third
amino acid in the overall configuration of the entire peptide which of course
influences their activity as organocatalysts.
