This paper deals with the main characteristics of cloud computing, how it is
implemented, the basics of its operation and the related technologies and
services.
More specifically, cloud computing is defined, its evolution is described and
its categories are defined. Its benefits are determined, that a user or an
organization can acquire from the use of cloud computing, but also the risks
and obstacles are determined that may exist by the transport of some services
to the Internet. Then, detailed description of the important technologies
associated with cloud computing are examined, and finally several cloud
computing services are presented.
