Summary:
This thesis attempts to apply the pedagogical principles of MOOCs in formal
higher education, based on a variant of the "flipped classroom" methodology. In
particular, there is an in detail analysis of the organization, the design and
the creation of an electronic platform, which will include the online part of
the course "Distance Learning and New Technologies' and in which the basic
pedagogical principles of MOOCs will apply. There will be an overview of a)
learning design principles b) the structure and educational meterial c) the
methodology d) the learning platform e) the form of the educatior-learners
communication f) the building process of the modules i) the trainees evalution
and finally l) the significance of the networking.
In conclusion, it is proved that the "flipped classroom" methodology is a
method which maintains the positive aspects of “face to face” teaching and
teacher-learner interaction while intorducing the activation of the learners,
their involvement in the educational process, networking, peer assessment, the
use of web 2.0 tools and the importance of creating a "learning community" to
produce new knowledge.
