Summary:
According to the study program for the first grade of the Generic Lyceum the
course IT Applications has as a general cause to help the students complete and
enrich their knowledge and skills on the fulfilling of computing systems,
Network technologies and IT Applications in the world today as tools for
learning, thinking, expressing, communicating, working and working together
remotely. The main expected results of this course is for the student to become
capable to describe fundamental concepts referring to the Science of
Informatics in the modern world and also to plan and to develop applications
compatible to Smartphone devices.
The present BA thesis refers to an environment called App Inventor, which is a
tool of free software that serves the cause of providing a screen through which
the students can easily and quickly learn how to apply their knowledge on
programming and algorithmic situations and develop applications that are
compatible to mobile phone devices. App Inventor and its teaching objectives
that are described in the section “Programming Enviroments – Application
Creation “ of the analytic study program, have as a main objective the teaching
of methods of developing applications. These applications will be compatible to
their own Android devices. Educational activities are presented in this thesis,
along with their Working Sheets , divided to groups according to many criteria(
difficulty level, guidance level etc ) and along with these their results.
