Original Title:
Χωρική και χρονική κατανομή του ιχθυοπλαγκτού στην περιοχή του Μαλιακού κόλπου για το έτος 2015
Translated title:
Spatial and temporal distribution of ichthyoplankton in Maliakos Gulf for the year 2015
Summary:
This study presents the synthesis (taxa) of eggs and larvae, their spatial distribution, the identification of spawning areas and the correlation with environmental factors in the area of Maliakos Gulf in 2015.
In the first chapter, there is an introduction about the systematic classification and the study of ichthyoplankton.
We used bongo plankton net for the collection of the samples and a CTD sensor for environmental data. In the section of materials and methods there is a detailed description about the methods of sampling and the processes followed in the laboratory, such as taking digital pictures and measurements (e.g. total length) of the ichthyoplankton and the statistical methods used for analyzing the data.
In the chapter results, graphs and tables, which are given by the statistical analysis, are displayed together with a brief report of the results. According to the results the most abundant larvae taxa was that of Gobiidae, Symphodus sp. and Callionymus sp., while the most abundant taxa for eggs was the taxa of Mugilidae, Engraulis encrasicolus and Callionymus sp.
Finally, in the chapter of the discussion, a further analysis of the results was carried out and a comparison of them with those of other studies.
