This thesis is concerned with problems arising from the general epistemic field of equations over free groups. It is ventured to be shown the relation between the concepts of verbal and algebraic closeness, which are related as such with the solvability of equations and systems of equations with the well-known concept of retract. Finally, certain algorithmic applications shall be presented.
