Cosmological Models with Extra Dimensions
Summary:
The aim of this study is to examine the possible consequences of a certain multidimensional scenario in the late-time evolution of various cosmological quantities. The geometry of the extra dimensions is assumed to be homogeneous, while the total energy density is related to the pressures of the physical and the extra space via different equations of state.Eliminating all the energy related terms results in a non linear differential system of equations for the evolution parameters of the physical and the extra space. The study of this system is done by assuming asymptotically constant equations of state for the physical and the extra space. The reconstruction of the evolution of the cosmological parameters is carried out through the application of a special case of the general Picard method, for various cases regarding the number of the extra dimensions and the state parameters, in order to compare the results with modern observational data. The results are compared with those of similar papers and a final discussion is performed.
