Summary:
This paper refers to the ways in which the history textbook of the 3rd year of primary school stimulates critical and creative thinking as well as the utilisation of this fact by teachers. In the theoretical part the terms of critical thinking, creative thinking, and curriculum are analyzed. The practical part includes the content analysis of the lesson about the Trojan War in the history textbook. A statistical analysis of teachers' replies to distributed questionnaires comes next, followed by the narration of their views, as phrased during interview. Finally, the conclusions drawn are mentioned, accompanied by suggestions for potential further research.
