Summary:
The purpose of this thesis is the theoritical approach of personalization and recommendation systems used by webpages, but also the design and implementation of the platform "Mediaorganizer.gr", a news aggregator with user antered design. In the first part of the paper we examine personalization, recommender systems and news aggregators through extensive literature research, in the second part are presented in detail the two surveys that were conducted for the purposes of this thesis and in the third and last part, there are presented in detail all the phases of design and implementation of the platform mediaorganizer.gr, from the conception of the idea, until its final representation through a functional protype.
