European Union is a politico-economic union of 28 members states which offers significant benefits. However, we understand that there are also some disadvantages. In the first part of this thesis, we analyze these disadvantages which appear gradually, like the democratic and the communication deficit, the "ethnocentrism", the euroscepticism. Moreover, we analyze how the economic crisis has effected the functioning of the Union. In the second part, we try to prove by qualitative research in the period of european elections in 2014 whatever we said in the first part of thesis. We analyze greek, britain and french articles. The conclusion from all this analysis is that the European Union has lost its glamour and the economical crisis in our days, is also a crisis in its structure.
