Summary:
The aspects of Europeanization regarding the Greek case are presented as a highly controversial subject and obviously, it seems to have contradictory outcomes concerning the field of social sciences. This study, makes an attempt- while focusing on Europeanization itself- to combine theory and move on a transition to pragmatic research and consequently to its results. The elements arising from this approach can be classified in two key factors. The first one, by analyzing the NGOs’ influence when it comes to Acheloos River, its environmental aspects and their interaction with the E.U. as well. The second factor, which is affected by the financial support programs targeting Greece, focuses on the development and transformation in which Greek institutions were subjected to over the years such as public administration and local self-government through their participation to the E.U. Moreover, at the end of each chapter, a general outcome is attempted concerning the rates of qualitative transformation through the E.U. interaction. Finally, there is a reverse approach which leads back to the original theoretical framework resulting to the schematic description of the Greek case.
