Original Title:
Προνοσοκομειακά συστήματα φροντίδας. Τα παραδείγματα της Ευρώπης και της Αμερικής
Summary:
Each country in the European Union and the USA provides a pre-hospital care system which is a unique structural element of emergency healthcare. In order to distinguish in a general context the health emergency systems, we divide them in two categories. The Anglo-Saxon system and the Franco-German. The differences between the two systems are related to the way that each country chooses to treat the patients on a pre-hospital level. This means either stays in the area of the incident and treat on scene, either immediate evacuation of the patient to the nearest hospital or trauma center to save time. The most important part of the treatment outside of the hospital is the training and expertise of rescuers and other health professionals who walk into an ambulance, having as a common goal to save the threatened lives, regardless of which system they are ordered to perform.
