Η προοπτική της ένταξης στην Ε.Ε. και οικονομική προσαρμογή : Η περίπτωση της Σερβίας.
Summary:
Economic conditionality, as the second most important conditionality of the Union, embodied in the Copenhagen criteria, pushes the candidate countries into economic changes, in our case, Serbia. The country has embarked on major reforms, as confirmed by the progress reports 206-2010. On several points, we have seen the Commission positively appreciate the changes. In conclusion, the lure of "membership", has pushed the government into massive reforms, infrastructure projects, but also a redeployment of enterprises in the old system. The criticism, however, is about the speed of the introduced reforms and structural changes, which does not seem to satisfy Brussels.
Serbia can not be considered as a school example of enlargement due to its peculiarities (the vague Kosovo status, the recent war, economic sanctions) and, on the other, because of the recent turmoil in the global economic crisis, which has a negative effect on the economic recovery .
