Summary:
The aim of this study is the exploration of linguistic humor, its uses, and its functions, its approach as a sociolinguistic phenomenon, as well as the proposal of humor' s integration in educational spaces of greek as a second language. In this study, the author highlight two basic humor' s benefits in second language teaching and learning; the cultivation of socio-pragmatic and socio-cultural competence, as well as second learners' ability to construct through humorous interaction their social identities.
