Summary:
The aim of this paper is to examine the mistakes that have been observed to the students of Modern Greek as a second language. First and foremost, we refer to the difference between language error and slip, to the Contrastive Analysis and to the Error Analysis. In the research part of the paper, we present the mistakes that were observed in 152 papers of the students of the Modern Greek Language Teaching Centre. In the conclusion, we give the reasons for the errors, which are divided into negative transfer errors and intralanguage / developmental errors. Finally, a teaching proposal is presented for their more effective management.
