From commercialized media to crowdfunding journalism: Greek examples of crowdfunded funded journalism
Summary:
At a time when traditional newsgroups, both in Greece and internationally, face difficulties of survival, they close or update the news delivery model (exclusively Sunday editions, paywalls, etc.), crowdfunded media are presented as an alternative for the survival of journalism. Media that seek public support for their economic viability have not appeared at random, nor should they be dealt with in isolation from the events of the past. Journalists and crowdfunded media officers are part of the traditional media, formed in them and act as a magnificent mirror of the existing possibilities, but also of the weaknesses of traditional journalism.
