Nowadays, where everything evolves, it is imperative to upgrade the role of the teacher and establish new institutions that will make school able to cope with these social, political and cultural needs with success. The human potential, its culture, its institutions and its results are research and study issues that have long been and still occupy various researchers.
In this context, it is necessary to adopt a new institution of pedagogical and didactic guidance and support aimed at better preparation of the "new" teacher in the new working conditions. Based on the above, the institution of the mentor and his contribution to the evolution of the newly appointed are being studied.
The purpose of this work is to present the role and the work of the mentor «teacher» as well as the advisory guidance and support to the new entrant, as well as the results of mentoring, the relationship that develops between a mentor and a new entrant.
At first, the basic concepts used in the present work and then through the presentation of the institution of the mentor in education refer to the qualifications of the mentor, his qualities and characteristics, as well as the conditions for their choice.
Then, through the reference made in the context of the mentor relationship appears its content, its characteristics, its strategies and the stages of its development. Also, reference is made to the benefits of mentoring of new entrants by mentors and to the relationship that develops between them.
Finally, there is a brief historical overview in which, through various characteristic examples, the importance of the role of the mentor throughout the course of culture emerges.
