Summary:
The theme of this dissertation is the teaching techniques of vocabulary based in task-based approach in Greek as second/foreign language. The first part discusses briefly teaching methods and approaches of teaching a language as second/foreign. Some of them are the grammar-translation method, the direct method, communicative language teaching, the natural approach and the lexical approach. Then, it is presented in detail the task-based approach. In particular, how a task is defined, how they are categorized, what their characteristics are and if there are criterion of difficulty are some questions, that are discussed. The second part includes the role and kind of tasks in teaching books of the Greek language as second/foreign. The teaching books that are used are all the tomes of the following: «Τα Ελληνικά» «Το ταξίδι στην Ελλάδα» and «Κλικ στα Ελληνικά». The third part includes tasks designed according to research in teaching a language as second/foreign and focused on teaching vocabulary all with the theme area “Travelling”. In conclusion, inferences and suggestions for further research are mentioned.
