This work is an effort to explore some of the elements governing deconstruction theory and to approach, through them, the play Waiting for Godot. Specifically, we will lead to the work hypothesis according to which the deconstruction of a transcendental signified, as seen in the work of Derrida, is accomplished in an artistic way, in Beckett’s theatrical masterpiece. We recognize in the logocentrism and metaphysics of presence the search for a center, as well as the desire for the search of a God-centric sign and observe how this search proves itself futile. Reason for that is that we are facing a weft of traces which refer endlessly to other traces etc. Due to that, we open the concept of meaning as well as the desire for signification which denotes the nature of speech. Finally, we indicate in Beckett’s play another Logos, an illogical Logos, by which "«the thinking of the outside» becomes visible to us” which is “the experience of the invasion of another order, external to the order of meaning" (Rigou, «Beckett o Ametafrastos» 159-160)
