Summary:
The aim of this paper is to present the linguistic study of the narrative texts of the History textbook of the last grade of Primary School. The main approaches to this study are exploring linguistic cohesion and meaningful coherence. Specifically, textual linguistic features that may cause problems in understanding narrative texts of history as texts rather than as historical facts may be investigated. Moreover, types of literacy are presented, aiming to make students skillful to comprehend and use the discourse effectively. Finally, this is an interdisciplinary study combining the history lesson with the modern greek language lesson.
