The Burn out and Job satisfaction of Teachers in Public Education: The case of Preschool Teachers.

Over the last decades, several surveys have conducted that attempt to specify the burnout of Greek teachers. Those surveys have illustrated that the burnout levels of Greek teachers are low, in comparison with the levels of other countries. This study aimed at investigating: a) the level of burnout of Greek preschool teachers, b) the effects of demographic factors (e.g. age, marital status, education) on preschool teacher’s burnout, c) the level of job satisfaction of Greek preschool teachers, d) the effects of demographic factors (e.g. age, marital status, education) on preschool teacher’s job satisfaction and (e) the relationship of burnout and job satisfaction and, in particular, the relationship of cause - effect relationship in education,. The survey involved 130 preschool teachers from prefecture of Euboea. Participants completed a questionnaire that assess: the burnout, job satisfaction experienced by teachers. The results showed that preschool teachers experiencing low levels of burnout are very satisfied with their profession.
