Summary:
Assessment constitutes a major issue for all the aspects of human life since the ancient times, whether in an official or unofficial form. For this reason, it is considered a vital part of education. Assessment, in particular, is regarded as a very basic stage in planning an Environmental Education project.
In the present project, review of the history of Environmental Education both globally and in Greece is made, followed by an alalysis of issues concerning the educational assessment and then, more specifically, of the assessment of environmental projects. Moreover, there is a reference to the changed which have been made as far as the teachers' views and their connection with the education as a procedure are concerned.
Aftet that, the research part follows, which deals with the personal views of the teachers of Elementary Education in connection with their demographic characteristics as well as if and how they themselves implement an assessment of the environmental projects they materealize each time in the classroom, something which draws very interesting conclusions.
