Professional Learning Communitie: a case study in a private educational organisation in Athens
Summary:
The aim of this paper is to detect the importance and the contribution of the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) model to the continuous quality improvement of the education provided in a private educational organisation in Athens. The first chapter examines the necessity for changes in education during the last years throughout the world and more specifically, in Greece, as well as the role of the PLC model in the upgrading of educational reality in the field as a whole. The second chapter analyses the cooperative culture that is necessary to exist within a successful educational organisation and the factors that promote or stall the development of the particular dimensions of a PLC. The third chapter presents the methodology adopted so that the research questions are answered and conclusions are reached which follow, in turn, more analytically in chapters four and five.
