Summary:
The present thesis targets to show out how innovative Georg Buchner's “Woyzeck” is and in the same time, how adaptable this play can be since it may be interpreted in various ways, in such a level that greek scene artists are stil inspired by this since the military dictatorship years. Hence, the basic dramaturgical keystones are examined and the main elements which we find in the various versions and directions of the play in the domestic theatrical practice are explored.
More specifically, in the first place an introduction to the dramatist and the specified play is formed. Next, dramatourgical analysis is taking place at the base of the triptych History – Violence – Justice. Following, the basic dilemmas the play itseself puts as far as its direction is conserned are presented so as, finally, the various perfomances of "Woyzeck" which have taken place in the greek scene over the years to be analysed.
