Summary:
Through this paper, an attempt will be made to study the impact of innovation on the economic growth of a country. How can innovation lead to GDP growth? More specifically, innovation will be approached through the two factors; R & D and patents. These will be both main variables of the model of the paper that will have a main role in extracting the conclusions of the empirical study. For the needs of the paper, a Cobb Douglas production function with a dependent GDP variable and independent investment, Research and Development and patents will be used.
