Summary:
The present research examines the views of preschool teachers in relation to the intercultural education. The theoretical framework of this research focused on the principles of intercultural education, on the models of education and on basic concepts which are connected directly with the intercultural education like inclusion, bilingualism and educational policy. The aim of this research consists of the analysis of the views and educational practice, the search of the factors which form the views of the teachers in relation to the intercultural education and also the role of educational training and the need of any changes in certain circumstances. For the selection of the data eight interviews took place. The participants of the research work in schools of preschool education in the area of central Athens, in which there are students of different cultures. For the process of the data, we used the content analysis method which subjects to qualitative research. The research deduces that most of the teachers find difficult that the students lack the knowledge of the Greek language. Although it seems that the teachers are using game as a way of inclusion. Nevertheless, they don’t approach the inclusion principles in depth, but they remain on simple practices. As far as the family is concerned almost all of the parents don’t seem to approach the cooperation on equal terms. There are many views in the means by which many teachers believe that the inclusion of the refugees will occur in the school. But everyone is positive on the right of education. Finally, the paedagogists feel unprepared in the discourse of an intercultural class and are trying to find help and support their teaching.
