The role of Medieval Islam in the history of science
Medieval science is essentially the story of the assimilation, development and dissemination of ancient Greek science, which was transmitted from the Byzantine Empire to the Arabic Caliphate and then to Western Europe. The aim of this dissertation is to examine the role played by the world of Islam in the Middle Ages in shaping Europe's cultural identity.
