REHABILITATION METHODS OF JUVENILE OFFENDERS
Summary:
On a first level, the thesis deals with the theories that have been formed about the attempts of a theoretical interpretation of juvenile delinquency which cause multiple problems due to several - and often contradictory - theoretical approaches refering to its understanding, preventing and control. For methodological reasons, the differentiation of these approaches is tripartite: a) the individual level, b) the group level and c) the structural level. Then, reference is made to the theorists who have highlighted the “labeling theory” (whether it causes or intensifies the delinquency of minors), the criticism which has been put on it and an analysis of the aspects of the principle of “non-intervention" and "nothing works” is attempted. On a second level, the writer explains some thoughts about the penalties imposed on minors according to the greek Penal Code, specializing in the role of the Minority Protection Companies, Child Protection Services, Reform Institutions and Detention Centers. Finally, some of the possibilities offered by the state in order to help the released minors after their reintegration into society are presented as well.
