Cold War Stereotypes and Propaganda in Films and Comics in the United States and the United Kingdom during the 1980s
Summary:
This paper deals with the Cold War stereotypes and propaganda appearing in US and British films and comics during the 1980s. It is an attempt to find the perception about the "self", the "other - friend" and the "other - enemy" in the mediums mentioned above, and how these are linked to J. Ellyl's social propaganda. A comparison between the US and British medium is also made, how and if they portray their enemy in a different way and how they choose to present themselves.
